He was predeceased by: his father Johnny; and his grandmother McCoy Thurman. He is survived by: his children, David Thurman, Jr., Penny O'Sullivan (Leland) and Tammy Evans; and his brothers, Randell Thurman, Tommy Thurman, Tony Thurman, Mike Thurman and John Thurman. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
