He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Funk and Dorothy Funk (Brown); and his siblings, Patricia Tomes, Thomas V. Funk Jr., Doris Newton and Darnella Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Funk; his sons, James E. Funk Jr. (C. C.), Thomas W. Funk, Christopher A. Funk and Nicholas N. Funk (Taylor); and his grandchildren, Shelby A. Funk, Hunter N. Funk (Emma) and Jasmine E. Funk. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family kindly requests that contributions in Jimmy's memory be made to Kosair Children's Hospital.
