He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Starr McCray and Ellen Edna Spafford McCray of Rolla, Missouri; his wife Mary Catherine Akers McCray; his son Robert "Bobby" McCray; and his siblings, Lewis James McCray, Raymond Henry McCray, Lawrence Albert "Cricket" McCray, Calvin Layton McCray, Ella Mae McCray Light, Helen Pearl McCray Gately, Belva Geneva McCray Williams, Jack Ray McCray and Rex Devere McCray.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Watts (Charles "Freddy") of Elizabethtown, MaryAnn Goodman (Larry) of Bowling Green, Patricia Ballard of Elizabethtown and James "Jimmy" McCray (Annette) of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens (3817 Leitchfield Rd, Cecilia, KY 42724).
