With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Rickett Van Meter of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 9, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Martha departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Martha may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Martha leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Logsdon and Mollie Smith Logsdon; her former husband William "Bill" Rickett; her husband Reginald Van Meter; her son William Douglas Rickett; her sister Hedy Martin; and her stepdaughter Lennie Van Meter.
She is survived by: her grandson Erin Douglas Rickett (Kimberly); her daughter-in-law Karen Rickett; and her stepchildren, Carol Peters of Elizabethtown and David Van Meter of Hermitage, Tennessee. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
