He is survived by: his wife Nicole Durbin; his sons, Johnathan Durbin (Brita) and Steven Durbin; his parents, Steve Durbin and Sharon Durbin; his sisters, Rebecca and Melissa Durbin; his parents-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Halagera; his brother-in-law Michael Halagera (Jackie); his siblings' children, Samantha Veitch, Madelynn Halagera, Abigail Halagera, Brandon, Lucas Sommers, Aeden Humphrey and Jaxon Halagera; and his aunts and uncles, Dr. Thomas Straka (Pat), Marge Wolf (Rick), Jim Straka (Lori), Theresa Shankland (Ron), John Straka (Kathy), Dr. Elizabeth Straka and Jane Buchman (Jim).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James the Greater Catholic Church (2502 11th St, Eau Claire, WI 54703). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting cash donations, which will be used for sponsorship of Little League Baseball, an organization that brought Matt many years of happiness.
