He was predeceased by: his parents, Goebel Swiney and Mary Vivian Puckett Swiney; and his brother James Allen Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Gloria May Sweeney of Elkhorn City, KY; his daughters, Stephanie Helvey (Jason) of Elkhorn City, KY and Lorie Adkins (Chris) of Georgetown, KY; and his grandchildren, Isabella Helvey, Lucas Helvey, Connor Adkins and Benjamin Adkins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Faith First Baptist Church (126 4th St, Pikeville, KY 41501). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
