He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Groves and Viola Blake Groves; and his siblings, Bill Groves, Michael Groves Jr., Margie Groves, Mary Elizabeth "Liddie" Groves and Verbena "Beanie" Miller.
He is survived by: his nephew John Michael Maynard of Elkton; his niece Anne Brandon (Christopher III) of Elkton; his great-nephew Christopher Brandon IV (Jennifer) of Elkton; his great-niece Michelle Brandon Rager (Todd) of Elkton; Paige Rager, Jacob Brandon, Preston Rager and Jillian Brandon.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to Transylvania University, John D. Wright Scholarship, 300 North Broadway, Lexington, KY 40508 or Transylvania University, Frank A. Rose Scholarship.
