He was predeceased by: his parents, Brank Shelton and Ozie Weatherford Shelton; his wife Ruth Shelton; his children, James Shelton and Angela Shelton; and his siblings, Randal Shelton and Judith Bivins.

He is survived by: his children, Scott Shelton (Beth) of Elkton, Larry Keith Shelton (Cindy) of Crofton, Ethan Barber (Bee) of Dunmor, Teresa Cannon of Elkton, Stacie Shelton of Elkton and Patricia Shelton of Elkton; and his stepchildren, Terry Lear (Debbie) of Elkton, George Meece (Michelle) of Carrollton, Kentucky, Mable Meece of Carrollton and Tina Terpening (Mort) of Hopkinsville. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren.

Even though Alzheimer and Dementia had taken over his last few years he never forgot his children, and they will never forget him.
