He was predeceased by: his mother Nellie McCarthy Adams; his stepfather Raymond Adams; his father John Purvis; and his brothers, Jack Purvis and Johnny Purvis.

He is survived by: his wife Daina Martin Purvis; and his nieces, Leslie and Brandie Purvis.
