She was predeceased by: her parents, George McGowan and Corinne McGowan (Swindler); and her husband Sonny Simpson. She is survived by: her sons, Gary Simpson of Louisville, Greg Simpson (Susie) of Nashville, TN and Glenn Simpson (Trish) of Eminence; and her brother Mac McGowen (Linda Jo) of Oldham County.
