He was predeceased by: his parents, James Adkins and Opal Lewis Adkins; his wife Shelby Jean Allen Adkins; his daughter Lisa Carol Adkins; his siblings, James Ed Adkins, Mona Lou Daniels and Jo Ann Lafferty; and his children-in-law, Terry Dotson and Melissa Adkins.
He is survived by: his children, Willis Gene Adkins of Cadiz, Kentucky and Donna Dotson of Flemingsburg; his granddaughter Shonna Gray (Kyle); his great grandchild Owen Gray of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; and his sister Norma Justice (Howard) of Pike County.
