He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Sweeney and Thelma Sweeney (Johnson); his sons, Michael Patrick Sweeney Jr. and Eric Wilson; his grandson Patrick Smiddy; and his sister Daisy Ritchey.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Sweeney; his children, Tammy Smiddy, Brian Wilson (Jennifer), David Todd Sweeney and Tiffany Wilson (Carl); his siblings, William Sweeney (Frances), Teddy Sweeney and Peggy Hutchison (Billy); and his grandchildren, Marcus Wilson, Carl Heissler III, Cameron Heissler, Gabrielle Mustard (Cody), Leah Schneidtmiller and Joyce Smiddy.
