He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Omer and Florence Christine Simpson Fields. He is survived by: his wife Dora Helen Fields; his children, Marshall (Jamie) Fields and Marvel (Bob) Hecking; his grandchildren, Alex Fields, Sophia Fields, Kelly Hecking, Leigh Hecking and Chloe Hecking; and his brother Steve Fields (Ginny).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Peoples Funeral Home (8340 US Hwy 27, Butler, KY 41006). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Peoples Funeral Home-Butler (8340 US Hwy 27, Butler, KY 41006).
