He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hurst and Minnie Hensley Hurst; his wife Martha "Tootsie" Reid Hurst; and his siblings, Donnie, Gary Hurst and Linda Hurst.
He is survived by: his sons, Roger Hurst (Amy) and Chris Hurst (Diane); his siblings, Eugene, David Hurst, Louise Borucki and Kathy Gutridge; his grandchildren, Fisher K. Hurst, Christopher L. Hurst II and Kristen Hope Hurst; and his great grandchildren, Lillian and Gunnar Hurst.
