He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeremiah Edward and Helen Rita Purcell (Gillespie); his grandson Cody Nelson; and his sister Catherine Maza. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Purcell (Hobbs) of Fancy Farm; his children, Alicia Ann Nelson (David) of Carlisle County, KY, Dr. Jeremiah M. Purcell (Shannon) of New Concord, KY, Lori Jean Abriola (Rick) of Nashville, TN, Dawn Marie Sullivan (Jim) of Murray, KY and Matthew Edward Purcell (Shanda) of Fancy Farm, KY; and his siblings, Janet Melanson of Cape Cod, MA and Robert Charles Purcell of Haverhill, MA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
