He was predeceased by: his son Jeff Wilson; his parents, James Ewing and Martina Lucille Wilson (Pierceall); his granddaughter Brittany Coffman; and his siblings, Rudy Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Vivian Goatley, Artie Brannon, Eva Alderdice and Cathy Gray.

He is survived by: his wife Hettie Wilson of Fancy Farm; his children, Lori Hale of Mayfield, KY, Sherry Jones (David) of Fancy Farm, KY and Brad Wilson (Amber) of Fancy Farm, KY; his siblings, R. L. Wilson (Sherma) of Paducah, KY, Wanda Mathis of Mayfield, KY, Annette Sapp (Fred) of Mt. Washington, KY, Darlene Greuel (Tom) of Franklin, TN and Betty O'Guinn (Jimmy) of Fancy Farm, KY; and his grandchildren, Brandi Mitchell (William), Jason Wilson (Megan), Lindsey Farris (Jimmy), Kelsey Burnett (Cody), Alicia Reesor and Austin Wilson. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Jerome Catholic Church (20 KY-339, Fancy Farm, KY 42039). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
