Bea Nelson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bea Nelson of Ferguson, Kentucky, who passed away on December 4, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Calhoun and Haley Burton Calhoun; her husband Albert Nelson; her children, Ralph Nelson, Shirley Mae Keller and Betty Shortnacy; her siblings, Lawrence Calhoun, Guy Calhoun, Arthur Calhoun and Evelyn Calhoun; her grandson James Elliott; her nephew Greg Auterson; and her son-in-law Albert Elliott.
She is survived by: her children, Sandy Pitman (Danny) of Ferguson, Charlotte Elliott of Somerset, Wanda Wilson (Charles) of Somerset and Robert Ray Nelson of Burnside; her sister Maxine Auterson of Norwood, OH; her grandchildren, Dawn Correll (Michael), Malissa Thacker (Travis), Sherrye Lemmon, Michele Sexton (Justin), Rhonda Blevins (Larry), Karen Burton (Kenny), David Nelson (Keli), Doug Nelson (Anne), Jill Vanhook (Jeff), Michael Wilson (Sheila), Debbie Wilson, Scottie (Debbie), Nelson and Kim Hollis (Chris); her nephew Mike Auterson (Diane); and her daughter-in-law Vivian Zeh. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland in memory of Lanoir Bea Nelson. Checks can be made payable to Hospice and mailed c/o Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1441, Somerset, KY 42502.
