He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Oliver and Carrie Belle Franklin Smith of Fern Creek, Kentucky.; his wife Geneva Russell of Fern Creek; his brothers, Harlan Smith and J. T. Smith; and his son James Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Priddy (Richard); his daughter-in-law Ruth Smith; his sons, Russell Smith and John Smith (Frani); and his grandchildren, Tim Robinson, Jonathan Robinson, Mark Robinson (Monya), Amy McDonald, Steve Smith (Kelly), Greg Smith, Sarah Mayberry (Nathan) and Ross Smith (Alex). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
