He was predeceased by: his parents, Meyering Hobbs and Leona Hobbs; and his brothers, Donald, Joe, Leroy, Martin, Robert and Richard Hobbs.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Lee Hager Hobbs of Flaherty, Kentucky; his sons, David Wayne Hobbs (Miranda) of Flaherty, Kentucky and Patrick Eugene Hobbs (April) of Flaherty, Kentucky; his sisters, Mary Rose Steinbock of Louisville, Genevieve Crutcher of Louisville and Marcella Barger of Midway, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Alec, Holland, Braxton, Nolan Hobbs and Dylan Shaw.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Chism Family Funeral Home (769 Highland Ave, Vine Grove, KY 40175). A prayer will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (440 St. Martin Road, Flaherty, KY 40175).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass of the Air (Archdiocese of Louisville) or Hosparus Health of Central Kentucky (Elizabethtown, Kentucky).
