He was predeceased by: his parents, William Applegate and Ruby Coryell Applegate; and his son William O. Applegate. He is survived by: his wife Martha Maxey Applegate; his children, Alice Myers (Jeremy), Ashley Applegate (Michelle) of Fleming County, Andrew Applegate (Melanie) of Simpsonville and Amanda Messer (Todd) of London; his grandchildren, Emily Virgin, Jamison Snedegar, Terri Applegate, Bobbi Applegate, Aubrie Messer, Lexi Messer, Bryce Applegate and Zachary Applegate; and his great grandchildren, Ruby Arlowe Virgin and Ava McClain.
