He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Lee Thomas and Velma Neomi Black Thomas; and his brother Johnny Bill Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Porter Thomas; his children, Diana Prater (Anthony), Jimmy Thomas (Kim) and Lori Pollitt; his grandchildren, Katlyn Thomas, Molly Keaton, Taylor Pollitt, Cory Prater (Selina) and Kelsey Cummins (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Emilee Keaton, Liam Keaton, Donovan Cummins, Mac Cummins, Kylee Prater, Addison Prater, Coby Prater, Raelynn Pollitt and Piper Pollitt; and his sister Joan Mineer-Chamblin (Ken). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Martin Cemetery.
