He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Yvonne Kaye Dalton; his children, Angela and David Wayne Coning Jr.; his close friend Lisa Schuck; his friend Steve Smelcer (Angela Louise Coning-Exterkamp); his son-in-law James Edward Exterkamp (Jim); and his children, James Edward Exterkamp II and Linda Kylie Day.
David enjoyed his job and took pride in his contributions to the government.
