He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Ernest and Myrtle Susan Teegarden Gillespie; his wife Jo Anne Leming Gillespie; and his great grandchildren, Maxim Ruth Tennyson and Joseph Brian Iles.
He is survived by: his children, Ruth Anne Tennyson (Terry) of Summerfield, NC, Emily MacFarlane (Jim) of Florence, Mary Catherine Gillespie of Erlanger and John K. Gillespie (Joyce Jacobs) of Erlanger. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; and multiple nieces and nephews.
