He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman and Dorothy; and his sister Carole. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his children, Rob Ruete (Missy), Sarah Bartnikowski (Chris) and Erik Ruete (Renee); and his grandchildren, Peyton Bartnikowski, Tyler and Caleb Ruete. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His love for coaching baseball culminated into raising the money and building a baseball field in Canton, MI for the local Pee Wee Reese league and being honored in the Canton Township Hall of Fame for his coaching successes and contributions to the community through baseball.
