He was predeceased by: his siblings, Truman, James Downey and May. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Downey; and his children, Susan Miller, Tracy Stachowski and Eric Downey. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Highland Cemetery's Chapel (2167 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017).
