He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Johnson and Rosa Johnson; and his grandson Christopher Shay. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lee Johnson (Kaltenbach Rolfes); his daughters, Kathryn Shay (John) and Joni Starnes (Harry); his grandchildren, Heather Schroder (Mark) and Adam Starnes (Elegel); and his great grandchildren, Samuel, Sydney, Josie Schroder, Taylor, Madison, Isabella and Lauren Starnes.

Guests are encouraged to wear masks and abide by social distancing guidelines.
