We announce the death of Edward Franklin Bates of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 72. Edward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Edward will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Edward’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his mother Idabeth McCloud; and his son Brian Bates. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Bates; his children, Wendy Dugger (Josh), Kevin Reynolds, Kimmie Bivens (Tye), Jessica Moorman (Brad) and Kristen Reynolds (Clayton); and his sister Donna McCloud. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel (4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018).
