With profound sadness, we say goodbye to JoAnn Simons-Schulte of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. JoAnn left this world on July 6, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallace Barker and Emma Barker; her husbands, George W. Simons and John C. Schulte; her granddaughter Lori Em Kotzbauer Hayes; her daughter-in-law Stacie Schwegman Simons; and her brother Wallace Barker III.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Kotzbauer (Bob), Joni Deinlein (Chris), Mitchell M. D., Steve, David (Charlotte) and Jeffrey Simons; and her sister Marilyn Freudenberg (Bob). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Thomas Church (26 E Villa Pl, Fort Thomas, KY 41075). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Open House (400 Riverboat Row, Newport, KY 41071).
