He was predeceased by: his father George "Hoot" Gibson; and his sister Sandra Peddicord. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, John Gibson, Jr. (Jamie) and Mary Ann Smith (Tim); his grandchildren, Sam Gibson, Sophia Gibson and Timmy Smith; his brother-in-law Gary Peddicord; and his niece Maggie Peddicord.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
