He was predeceased by: his former wife Donna Fay Derby; his son Richard E. Derby; and his sister Carolyn Braunstein. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Walkenhorst Derby; his sons, Robert E. Derby Jr. (Tracy) and Randall E. Derby (Shana); his grandchildren, Ashley Derby, Brandon Derby (Taylor), Ryan E. Derby (Chloe McAdams) and Lauren Diez (Daniel); and his great grandchild Liam Diez.
