He was predeceased by: his father William Edgar Cardwell; his wives, Donna Faye Fryman Cardwell and Cheryl Duncan Cardwell; and his siblings, William Bill Cardwell and Priscilla Bray.
He is survived by: his children, Ashley Aaron Cardwell (Denise) of Bardstown, Rachel Lindsay Sparrow (Cory) of Stamping Ground, Stephanie Burris of Paris and Emily Payton (Bryan) of Frankfort, Kentucky; and his siblings, Wallace Cardwell (Charlotte) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and Georgina Thacker of New Mexico. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to VFW Post 4075 and VFW Post 4075 Ladies Auxiliary.
