He was predeceased by: his father Vernon "Doll" Downey; and his brothers, John Richard "Jack" Downey and Franklin Clay "Frank" Downey. He is survived by: his wife Linda Charlene Hutcherson Downey; his sons, Dennis Matthew Downey (Debbie) and Jeffery Scott "Jeff" Downey (Michelle); and his siblings, William Earl Downey (Sandra) and Reginia Ann Gribbons. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
