He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Marguerite Yancey of Frankfort and Clarence Carl Yancey of Lawrenceburg; his significant other Jane Hudson Yancey; and his siblings, William Gregory "Red" Yancey, Carl Elwood "Woody" Yancey and Mary Yancey Metz of Frankfort.

He is survived by: his children, Philip Yancey (Vicki) of Frankfort, Elizabeth Mahan of Frankfort, Paul Yancey (Barbara) of Frankfort, Daniel Yancey (Jennifer) of Frankfort and Karen Mahoney (David) of Frankfort; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Mahan, Ira Mahoney, Asa Mahoney, Tate Ward and Fisher Ward.
