With sadness, we share the passing of Donald Kenneth Buchanan of Frankfort, Kentucky. Donald, born on November 21, 1935 in Winston Salem, North Carolina, passed away on October 2, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Buchanan and Carma Virginia Ownby Buchanan; his brothers, Jack Buchanan, Tommy Buchanan, Gene Buchanan and William "Bill" Buchanan; and his son-in-law John Patrick Neagley.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Hudson Switzer Buchanan; his children, Lynn Buchanan Neagley of San Diego, Donald Kenneth Buchanan, Jr. (Maricor) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mitch Buchanan of Frankfort and Mary Kathryn Buchanan Hennigan (Steve) of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Donald Kenneth Buchanan III of Chesapeake, Virginia, Haly Kathryn Buchanan of Lexington, Lucy Ann Buchanan of New York and Lily McKee Hennigan of Fort Thomas; and his nibling Switzer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the South Frankfort Presbyterian Church (224 Steele St, Frankfort, KY 40601). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
