He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Thompson and Isabelle Thompson; and his son Lloyd Edmond. He is survived by : his wife Marcella; his children, Ben Thompson (Lisa), Kate McCane and Jennifer Quarles (Travis); his grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Madison Thompson, Grace Perkins, Carson Greenwell, Connor Greenwell, Belle Quarles and Luke Quarles; his siblings, Jackie Sue Phillips, Tommy Thompson (Marsha) and Randy Thompson (Judy); and his nephews, Drew Thompson, Ross Thompson, Andy Hightower, Ryan Thompson, David Thompson, Jack Phillips, Will Phillips and Greg Howard.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Peaks Mill Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
