He was predeceased by: his mother Viola Gross Mays; and his son Edward. He is survived by: his father Troy Otis; his wife Anne Wesley Switzer Mays; his son Troy (Joyce); his grandchildren, Skylar, Les (Paige) and Hunter (Anna); and his great grandchildren, Jenevieve, Isabelle and Van.
