He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gayhart and Elizabeth Caywood Gayhart. He is survived by: his wife Betty Childs; his grandsons, Adam Akin (Casie) and David Akin (Allison); and his great grandchildren, Georgia and Eleanor.
