He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward and Juanita Donovan Conway; his son Christopher James Manley; and his brother Charles William Conway. He is survived by: his close friend Elizabeth "Libby" Smith; his son James "Donavan" Conway; his sister Mary Lou Payton (Willie); and his grandchildren, James Tyson Conway, Saphire Alexandria Louise Manley and Shelly Ann Marie Manley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Bluegrass.
