He was predeceased by : his parents, Michael Francis Thornsberry and Elsie Louise Hart Thornsberry; his brother Michael H Thornsberry; and his brother-in-law Larry Flowers. He is survived by : his wife Beverly Russell; his daughter Julie Thornsberry Doane (Chuck); his grandson Zachary Joseph Doane; and his siblings-in-law, William "Bill" Russell (Kim), Kevin Russell (Shirley), Betty Thornsberry and Michele Russell Flowers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (72 Shepherd Way, Frankfort, KY 40601). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
