He was predeceased by: his father Augustus Lippert; his former wife Lucille Gravitt Lippert; and his siblings, Iva Shy and Augustus Lippert Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Banion Lippert; his children, Betsy Dunnigan (William) and Daryl Lippert (Debra); his stepson Brennan O'Banion (Kimberly Sanders); his grandchildren, Stacey Banks (Robert), Kimberly Bryan (Mike), Erik Dunnigan (Megan) and Tiffany Kelley (Brandon); his stepgrandchildren, Skylar Johnson and Emma Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Brennan Lippert, Chase Forester (Victoria), Ty Bryan, Taylor Bryan, Levi Dunnigan and Laine Dunnigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
