She was predeceased by : her parents, Leonard Gordon Montgomery and Hannah Underwood Montgomery; her husband Billy Joe Smith; and her sons, Billy J. Smith and Terry Wayne Smith.

She is survived by : her children, Teresa Toles, Lavinia Wood (Chris), Yvonneda Gaines, Shelia Smith, Eddie Joe Smith (Rhonda) and Victoria Smith. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
