He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond "Bill" Caldwell and Leona Pence Caldwell; his son William Huntley Caldwell; his stepson Timothy Nelson; his granddaughter Tia Peavler; and his brothers, Roy and Johnny Caldwell.
He is survived by: his wife Rubye Chester Caldwell; his children, LouAnn Hyatt (Vernon, Jr.) of Lawrenceburg and Vernon Caldwell, Jr. (Cindy) of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Huntley Tyler Hyatt (Anna), William Grant Caldwell, Jesse Nelson (Kendra) and Jasmine Nelson; his great grandchildren, Rayley, Grayson, Devyn, Daisy, Huntley and Jay; and his brother Ray Caldwell (Jean) of Lawrenceburg.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home (701 N Main St, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
