She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Higdon and Waltrude Coomes Higdon; her husband L. B. Simpson; her children, Roger Simpson, Amos Simpson and Darlene Edge; her grandson John Marshall Simpson; and her siblings, J. C. Higdon, Maxine Baldwin, Lena Clement, John Higdon and Joetta Cooper.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Simpson of Owensboro, Jimmy Simpson (Kathy) of Calhoun, Tommy Simpson (Gail) of Henderson and Laura Williams (Bruce) of Franklin; and her siblings, Sylvester Higdon of Whitesville, Ruth Johnson of Mt. Juliet, TN, Barbara Obermeyer (Mike) of Rockport, IN and Laura Snider of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
