We announce the death of Charles Richard Barnes Jr. of Franklin, Kentucky, born in Pierron, Illinois, who passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Richard Barnes, Sr. and Clara Barnes (Weidner); his former wife Norma Mete Barnes; his children, Kim McCarty and Bradley Barnes; and his siblings, Don Barnes, Gerald Barnes and Deanna Gansmann.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Barnes; his son B. J. Barnes; his daughter-in-law Tonya of Portland, TN; his granddaughters, Lauren Cook (Justin) of Portland, TN and Hannah Barnes of Portland, TN; his great grandchildren, Charlie Cook and Lacie Cook; and his sister Sally Sparks (George) of Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the White House General Baptist Church (4012 US-31W, Cottontown, TN 37048).
