He was predeceased by: his parents, William Caruthers and Hazel Caruthers; and his daughter Deidre Caruthers. He is survived by: his wife Marcia S. Caruthers; his son John Caruthers (Allison); and his siblings, Michael Caruthers, Steve Caruthers (Jacki), Sarah Jones, Maree Caye Outlaw (Tim) and Tia Robin Hencke (James). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
