He was predeceased by : his parents, James William "Darty" Graves, Sr. and Lera Faye Trammel Graves; his brothers, Ronald Ray Graves and Danny Dillow; his parents-in-law, Cecil and Susie Lillard; and his son-in-law Jeremy Fields Runions.

He is survived by : his wife Margaret Dianne Lillard Graves of Franklin; his children, James Aaron Grave (Patricia Gayle) and Barbi Ann Runions of Nashville; his siblings, Ricky Graves (Alice), David Graves, Kenny Graves (Ruth) and Tracie Holmstedt (Jim); and his grandchildren, James Mason Graves, Autumn Renee Graves and Matthew Aaron Graves. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
