Melvin Minor Chapman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Minor Chapman of Franklin, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Chapman and Lillian Chapman (Janey); his wife Norma Chapman (Karnik); his son Billy Chapman; and his siblings, Daniel, Darrell, Harold, Ray, Shirley, Linda, Betty, Faye and Ruth.
He is survived by: his daughter Martha Neiswanger (Jack) of Franklin, KY; his grandsons, John Neis (Gina) of Elmhurst, IL and Jason Neiswanger of Huntsville, AL; his great grandchildren, Lucas and Vincent; his sisters, Marie Hedrick of Huntington and Bonnie Breedlove (Jerry) of Huntington, WV; and his nephew Nick Karnik. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory (325 W Cedar St, Franklin, KY 42134). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
