She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Thornton and Nancy Elizabeth Clayton (Spencer); her husband William A. Maxey; her children, Sue Story, William "Butch" Maxey and Sandy Rose; and her siblings, Kathleen Clayton-Barr, Van Clayton and Bobby Clayton.
She is survived by : her siblings, Charles Clayton, Bill Clayton and Lucy Clayton-Wilson; and her grandsons, William Rose and Benjamin Story. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
