He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Lewis and Mary Iva Ryherd (Proffitt); his wife Vonda Catherine Isenberg; his daughter Iva Joan Steelman; and his siblings, Audie, Clyde, Carl, Paul, Dwaine, Lucy O'Banion, Essie Harlin, Eva Whitis, Dean Davis and Faye Oye.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas of Gamaliel, James of Gamaliel, Patrick (Ivanna) of Gamaliel, Debra Whiddon (Bud) of Mt. Juliet, Beverly Gerald of Gamaliel and Sherry Ryherd of Franklin, Kentucky. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Gamaliel Cemetery in memory of Mr. Ryherd.
