He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Vergil Jernigan, Gracie Mae Taylor (Carter), Fred Bransford Ray and Lecta Ann Ray (Deckard); and his aunts and uncles, Max Ray Spears Ray (Fay), Becky Ray (Rich), Joe William, Margaret Taylor (Quinn), Jerome, Shirley Taylor (Spivey), John M. Taylor, David, Martha Taylor (Stevens), Charles, Joyce Taylor (Shirley) and Peggy Ray.
He is survived by: his father Attorney James Charles Jernigan (Patsy Ann); and his aunts, Idru (Taylor), Vibbert (Joseph) and Jackie Taylor (Napier).
